How much does living in a Both x Home rental apartment cost?

When you rent with us, your housing expenses consist of your rent, which varies by apartment, and your utility charge.

The utility charge covers your apartment’s water, electricity, and internet, as well as access to the sauna and laundry room. The utility charge amount depends on whether you sign the rental agreement independently or jointly with a friend or partner.

  • If you sign the rental agreement independently, the total utility charge is €55 per month.
  • If you sign the rental agreement jointly with a friend or partner, the total utility charge is €75 per month.

When signing a rental agreement with us, you also need to pay a tenancy deposit equal to one (1) month’s rent. The deposit is returned to you at the end of your rental agreement once you have returned the apartment and we have verified its condition.

Students studying at the University of Helsinki receive a 10% rent discount on student apartments.

Do I need to pay a deposit for my apartment?

When signing a rental agreement with us, you also need to pay a tenancy deposit equal to one (1) month’s rent. The deposit is returned to you at the end of your rental agreement once you have returned the apartment and we have verified its condition.

How long is the notice period for my apartment?

Tenants are required to give one (1) months’ notice when ending their tenancy. After you give notice, your tenancy always ends on the last day of the following month.

  • For example: If you give notice on 4 September, your tenancy will end on the last day of October.

The landlord is required to give three (3) months’ notice before ending the tenancy.

  • For example: If the landlord gives notice on 4 September, your tenancy will end on the last day of December.

Can I apply for benefits from Kela if I rent a Both x Home apartment?

Yes. Our rental agreement is equivalent to any other normal rental agreement, which means you are entitled to apply for Kela benefits such as general housing allowance.

Can I rent a Both x Home apartment?

Both x Home apartments are available to anyone. Before signing the rental agreement, we check the tenant’s credit information.

We also offer student apartments that are meant specifically for people studying at universities and other higher education institutions. Before signing a rental agreement for a student apartment, tenants are required to provide proof of their right to study. You can rent a student apartment for a maximum of five years. However, if there is good cause, we may grant you an extension of up to six months, provided your studies end within said extension period.

How long is my tenancy?

You can sign either an open-ended or a fixed-term rental agreement for your Both x Home apartment. Our apartments do not have a minimum tenancy period.

How do I pick up and return the keys to my apartment?

You can pick up the key to your apartment from the Securitas key service point in Postitalo at Elielinaukio 2. Detailed instructions on how to pick up your keys will be provided when you sign the rental agreement.

What services do I have access to?

Our apartments have access to a sauna and a spacious laundry room, which includes a dryer.

Can I keep pets in my apartment?

Pets are welcome in Both x Home rental apartments.

However, pets are not allowed in shared student apartments, as this may prevent us from offering these apartments to people with allergies.

Do you offer furnished apartments?

All our apartments are generally unfurnished. However, if you need a furnished apartment, this may be possible under certain circumstances. If you wish to know more, please contact: vuokraus@bothxhome.fi

Can I smoke or use an e-cigarette in my apartment?

No. Our buildings are smoke-free.

Do the apartments have fittings for washing machines or dishwashers?

Most of our apartments do not have fittings for washing machines or dishwashers.

Location
Where are the apartments located?

All our apartments are located in Leppäsuo in central Helsinki at Leppäsuonkatu 9 and Hietaniemenkatu 14.

Our apartments are located close to services and public transport connections:

  • Kamppi Shopping Centre and metro station: 900 metres
  • Tram and bus stop: 100 metres (Arkadiankatu), 250 metres (Hanken)
  • Nearest grocery store: 100 metres
